However, certainly until you get your bearings in the temple or have very high skill levels, it's best to be overprepared than underprepared. This is arguably overkill your Sims can explore with few or no items and may be successful. It's advised when starting out to buy at least three machetes and a couple of each type of defense spray. After purchase, the item will be in the buying Sim's inventory, but it can be dragged out of the inventory to place in the world or transferred to another Sim's pockets. Simply click on an item to see its price and confirm the purchase prices are fixed and cannot be haggled down. The table needs to be manned, but generally upon loading the neighborhood NPC Sims will spawn in and run to sell their wares. The little tables will display their merchandise for purchase. Note that the cantina itself does not need to be loaded to visit the marketplace stands as long as that neighborhood is loaded (including either rental property), your Sim can visit the stands. These are located on the same lot as the Cantina in the Puerto Llamante Marketplace region.
To best prepare for the jungle, you'll want to tell a Sim to visit the marketplace stands. It works the same way in the jungle: some dangers will apply Dazed debuffs, and while no single debuff will kill the Sim, multiple stacks of them might. If they try and fail again, a second Dazed debuff will stack and potentially kill the Sim. For example, a Sim who fails repairing an electrical device at home may draw the Dazed debuff. However, the debuffs can be relatively strong, and may be potentially lethal if multiple ones stack, just like around the house. Conversely, if they have no spray in that situation, they will react to the danger and draw a debuff.ĭangers in the jungle are ultimately non-lethal even if they strike your Sim. The item will be consumed, but they will not draw any moodlet bebuff. For example, if your Sim is attacked by spiders but is carrying a spider repellent, they will immediately and automatically spray themselves. However, Sims will correctly deploy items to defend themselves as necessary. You cannot interact with the items in a Sim's inventory beyond telling them to place them in the world, and even if they're placed, they cannot be interacted with aside from telling a Sim to place it in their inventory. Both of these items, as well as other exploration items, are always automatically used on your command. When first Taking a Vacation to Selvadorada, the Sim who called and confirmed the vacation will be given a spider repellent and a machete for free, both of which will appear in their inventory. Some of these dangers are offset by having high levels of a variety of skills (explained in more detail in the next subsection), but there are a few items you can buy to increase your chances of finding some good loot. The Jungle features many dangers that will challenge your Sims. Temples are somewhat randomly generated and feature many treasures from simoleons to Jungle Relics. While the jungle itself has a few minor treasures, the real draw of exploring is the temple.

You may need to disable Free Will if you really want multiple Sims in multiple places, but it's likely not necessary. Under AI control they tend to group up, so even if you order one Sim to "Go Here" to a different jungle area, they might want to come back on their own when you switch control because they want to be near whichever Sim you're actively controlling. When multiple Sims arrive at the jungle, they are automatically placed into a social group indicated by translucent crystals over their heads. Conversely, if one Sim is in the jungle and another is back at the rental property, only one of them may be directly controlled at once.
Most jungle lots are loaded at once, so different Sims may be in different areas at the same time but can be fully controlled.
If multiple Sims are on vacation at once, any of them may visit the jungle lots as you command.
